Pigmentation or hyper pigmentation can be described as uneven skin tone or discolouration, is a common condition in which patches of the skin become darker than the surrounding skin.
It is harmless but can be a cosmetic concern for some.
Essentially it is the overproduction of melanin - the pigment that gives skin its colour.
It is caused by a variety of factors such as trauma to the skin, e.g. acne, sun damage and skin changes during pregnancy.
How can my hyperpigmentation be treated?
The Aesthetics Nurse will work with you to form a bespoke treatment package to target the pigmentation. The cause of the pigmentation and the severity will determine what treatments you would require.
However, typically treating pigmentation involves a series of medical facials of either one, or a combination of the following:
- AlumierMD Light Chemical Peels
- LED Light Therapy
- The Perfect Peel
- Microneedling - Dermapen
- Targeted Skin Care Regime
AlumierMD skin treatments, the perfect peel, microdermabrasion and Dermapen treatments all offer skin resurfacing solutions to remove existing pigment.
This should be complimented with a targeted skin care regime that includes ingredients to reduce the melanin production in the skin.
How quickly will I see results?
lifting of pigmentation and brightening of the skin can be achieved in as little as one treatment, however repeated treatments over a number of weeks.
How much will it cost to treat my pigmentation?
